There will be a planned water outage on Thursday, August 21, 2008 for the Reems Creek area in order to continue connection work on the District's new storage tank. This outage is anticipated to last several hours. Depending on location, some customers may not notice any difference in water flow and/or pressure; however, customers should be prepared for low or no water pressure & flow between 8 A.M. and 5 P.M. on the 21st. In case of extremely inclement weather, this work may be postponed and/or completed on Friday, August 22th. If this becomes necessary more information will be posted to this page.

Water Restrictions Now in Place

As of August 18, 2008, the Woodfin Sanitary Water & Sewer District has implemented mandatory water restrictions for all customers. Due to the significant and prolonged drought conditions, the State of North Carolina has advised the conservation of potable water for all communities to avoid future serious water shortages. Until further notice, the following non-essential water usage is prohibited:

Residents are still permitted to water outdoor plants through the use of portable containers not larger than three gallons in size.

While water supplies within the District are sufficient for the near future, residents are encouraged to observe the careful use of water for household purposes and to conserve water to the greatest extent possible.
