Boil Water Advisory Instructions
A boil water advisory means your tap water may not be safe to drink unless it is boiled first. Bring all tap water to a rolling boil for at least one minute, then allow it to cool before use. Store boiled water in clean, covered containers until the advisory is lifted. We will share updates as soon as more information is available. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Use Bottled Water or Boil for the Following:
- Drinking
- Making ice
- Brushing teeth
- Preparing food
- Washing fruits and vegetables
- Mixing baby formula
- Giving water to pets
You do not need to boil water for showering or bathing, but avoid swallowing water and supervise young children. Tap water may also be used for washing hands with soap and water, doing laundry, and washing dishes if you are using a dishwasher with a sanitizing cycle. If washing dishes by hand, use boiled water.
When the Advisory is Lifted:
When the boil water advisory is lifted, flush your household plumbing by running cold water taps for several minutes.
Discard any ice that was made during the advisory, and replace water filters if you use them.
