August 18, 2021 – Masks required

Effective Wednesday, August 18, 2021 by order of the Buncombe County Commission, masks are required to be worn for all visitors to District offices. This order is in effect until September 30, 2021 or until altered or rescinded by the Commission. 

July 5, 2021 – Independence Day (observed)

District offices will be closed Monday, July 5, 2021 in observance of Independence Day. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. If you have an emergency such as a water line leak or break you may call our office at (828) 253-5551 and select option “0” to be transferred to our after-hours emergency service. Please note that our emergency service cannot answer billing or other inquiries. All other functions such as starting or stopping service or making a payment may be handled here on our web site. 

June 1, 2021 – Conservation rates

Conservation rates are now in effect for water usage beyond 15,000 gallons per month. The District reminds all residents to do their best to conserve water whenever possible. 

May 26, 2021 – Memorial Day

District offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 31st. Most services offered by the District are available online, including making payments, requesting leak adjustments, and starting or stopping service. For emergencies such as a water line leak or break, please call 828-253-5551 to connect to our after-hours emergency service. Please note that our emergency service cannot answer billing or other general questions.

Friday, April 2 – Good Friday

District offices are closed Friday, April 2, 2021 in observance of Good Friday. 24 hour emergency service for water line leaks/breaks is available by calling 828-253-5551. 

New office hours effective February 8, 2021

Effective February 8, 2021, the District’s main office hours will change. The office will be open from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM Monday-Friday and closed from 12 PM – 1 PM daily for lunch. Emergencies can still be handled when the office is closed by phoning 828-253-5551. Virtually all District functions are available online and the District encourages all citizens to utilize these methods to limit contact with others to the greatest extent possible. 

Office closed to the public week of Dec. 27-Jan 1

Due to Covid exposure, the District office will be closed to the public the week of Dec. 27-Jan 1. Normal telephone hours will apply Tuesday-Thursday. After hour emergencies can be handled by dialing 828-253-5551 and selecting option 9.

Office hours week of Dec 7-11, 2020

District offices will be closed to the public Monday, Dec. 7 and Thursday-Friday, December 10-11, 2020 in order to limit the spread of COVID-19. Telephone hours are available all days as is all online functions. District offices will be open to the public on Tuesday, Dec. 8 and Wednesday, Dec. 9 for those individuals who need to pay cash or have received a late or disconnect notice. The District encourages all customers to stay safe and utilize online services to the greatest extent possible. 

Holiday/Covid Hours through Thanksgiving

District offices will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday November 26th & 27th, 2020. Out of an abundance of caution due to the Thanksgiving holiday, District offices will be closed to the public the week of November 30th through December 4th. All District functions will be available online 24 hours, and normal telephone office hours will apply (Monday-Thursday 9AM-4PM, Friday 9AM-1PM). The District urges all of its customers to stay safe, strictly limit personal contact with others and make efforts to sanitize and wear personal protective gear as necessary. 

Labor Day, Sep. 7, 2020

District offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2020 in observance of Labor Day. Virtually all District services are available online, including bill payment, starting and stopping service, and other requests. For an emergency such as a water line break, please call our office at (828) 253-5551 to be transferred to our after-hours on-call staff.
