Sept. 11, 2018 – Preparations for Hurricane Florence

The District recommends that customers take reasonable precautions to prepare for Hurricane Florence. Customers may want to store some extra water in their refrigerators for drinking in case of water line breaks or washouts related to the storm. Emergencies can be reported by calling our office at (828) 253-5551. In case of office closure, all functions such as starting and stopping service, paying a bill, or requesting a leak adjustment are available here on our website. If power should be interrupted, most District customers should still have water service, as most of the District is gravity-fed and thus not dependent upon electrical pumps.
