Boil Water Notice – Weaverville Area
Issued: September 18th, 2025
Who is affected: Customers on Highlander Rd; East Baird Mountain Rd; West Baird Mountain Rd; Chipmonk Cove Rd; Wilderness Rd; Brushwood Rd; and Wilderness Cove Rd.
What to do now
Do not drink the water without boiling it first.
Bring water to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute, then let it cool before using. Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, preparing food, brushing teeth, and giving to pets.
It’s okay to shower/bathe as usual; avoid swallowing water.
If you are immunocompromised or care for infants/older adults, consider using bottled water for all uses.
Why is this notice in place?
Multiple leaks and breaks in the Weaverville section of our distribution system caused a pressure drop that can allow contaminants to enter the lines.
How long will this last?
We expect 48–72 hours while repairs are completed and water quality tests confirm it’s safe. We’ll lift the notice as soon as results are clear and will notify you immediately.
